Sketch Assignments
Check in here to find each assigned sketch. The number of assigned sketches simply depends
on how the quarter goes and how long projects take. Typically sketches are assigned at the
end of a project and can be done in class if free time allows, or you will have to complete
sketches as homework. I only collect these once, at the end of the grading period,
so you have to stay on top of your assignments and make sure they are completed
by the turn in date (which I will list here and announce in class at a later date).

Assignment #1
Please draw the following prompt in your sketchbook.
You are expected to do your best and FILL THE PAGE... in this case, pages.
Make sure you are reading the whole prompt and doing what is asked.
Draw a self-portrait.
Think about exactly how you want to draw it.
Are you going to draw your whole body?
Just your head, neck and shoulders?
Draw only half of you at the edge of the paper?
Draw your head from the top, like you're looking upside down?
Fill the background with patterns of items that describe you. Your favorite things.
FILL THE WHOLE PAGE.

Assignment #2
Please choose one of the following prompts to draw
(Sketch A OR Sketch B...or draw both if you would like!)
You are expected to do your best and FILL THE PAGE.
Sketch A:
Draw or design a vehicle. This can be a car, spaceship, airplane, boat, motorcycle, bicycle or anything you want. Include details and make it big. Any media
Sketch B:
Draw a series (3 or more) of animals in motion. Such as a cheetah running, a rabbit hopping, a bird flying. This can be in a row.

Sketch A:
Skateboard Deck Designs: create TWO designs for the bottom of a skateboard.
You can use realistic, abstract or non-objective designs. Keep it CLEAN & appropriate
Color to make them complete.
Sketch B:
What if you were the size of an ant, draw the view you would see if you were in a forest looking at ground level looking up. You can have it look cartoon-like, add fantasy creatures (keep them appropriate!)
